Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Chinook Metal Buildings ("we") supplies and builds pre-engineered steel buildings in the Calgary region. Privacy questions go to our Privacy Officer at [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Details you give us in the quote form: name, email, phone, building size and use, framing and crane needs, timeline, site location and, if you give it, a parcel or legal land description.
- Calls to our tracking numbers: the number you called from, the time, and the call recording if you are told at the start of the call that it is recorded.
- How you reached us: the page you submitted from and campaign tags in the link (utm, gclid).
- Basic technical data your browser sends (IP address, device type) in server and security logs.
3. Why we use it
To answer your quote request, prepare options and a quote, check permit and site requirements for your location, follow up on that request, and keep records of what we told you. We send marketing emails or texts only if you tick the marketing box, and you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share it with
- Suppliers and trades working on your project: the building manufacturer we order from (to prepare stamped drawings and price the steel), and the foundation, erection and other trades we engage for your building. They receive only what they need to do that work.
- Partner builders, only with your consent: if we can't take on your project and you ticked the partner-builder box, we share your contact and project details with an independent steel building supplier or erector in Alberta so they can quote it. They use your information for that purpose under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers who process information for us: our quote survey's email delivery (Resend, United States), our form, contact and phone system once it is connected (HighLevel / LeadConnector, United States), and website hosting and security (Cloudflare, United States and its global network).
- When the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Service providers outside Canada
Your information is stored and processed in the United States by the service providers named above, for the purposes in section 3. While it is there, it may be accessible to courts and authorities under US law. To learn about our policies and practices for service providers outside Canada, contact our Privacy Officer.
6. How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not become a project: 24 months from the last contact, then deleted. Project records: as long as needed for warranty, tax and legal purposes. Marketing consent records: for as long as we message you, plus 3 years.
7. How we protect it
Access is limited to the people who need it, accounts use multi-factor authentication, and the site is served over HTTPS. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we notify Alberta's Information and Privacy Commissioner and you, as the Personal Information Protection Act requires.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to marketing or to sharing with partner builders at any time. Write to our Privacy Officer. We respond within the time the law allows (45 days under the Personal Information Protection Act). If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
9. Cookies and tracking
The site sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics. The quote form is provided by our form provider and may set its own cookies to work. If a link brings you from an ad, the site stores the campaign tag for your visit (session storage) so the right phone number is shown.
10. Changes
We will post any change here with a new "Last updated" date.
